Northwell Health efforts to achieve Climate Resiliency- Virtual
Limited Capacity seats available

The goal of a well-constructed Crisis Management program is organizational resilience, to be highly reliable during times of stress. Climate change is causing extreme weather, hotter temperatures, and other human health problems.
Northwell health is working to achieve climate resiliency so that we can continue to serve our community, uninterrupted. Climate resiliency is the ability to prepare for, recover from, and adapt to impacts of climate change. For health care organizations, it’s about the ability to maintain reliable health care, no matter what. Resilient health care systems are anchors for healthy, sustainable communities.
Utilizing the 4 phases of Emergency Management (Mitigation, Preparedness, Response, & Recovery) as the framework for our planning efforts.  Northwell has chosen to focus on three main areas as a part of this overall framework.
·       Emergency Preparedness: We’re using best practices for disaster management and maintaining continuity of operations.
·       Infrastructure upgrades: We’re making critical infrastructure upgrades, focused on climate sustainability.
·       Community health: We’re anticipating the needs of groups in our community who have a disproportionate risk of climate-related harm.
